Youth Beginner Classes

Denver Fencing Center offers beginner group classes for children ages 8-14, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. Our instructors introduce students to all of the basics of fencing, including terminology, fencing movements, and how to put on the fencing uniform. Students will experience all three fencing weapons: foil, epee, and saber. Because of the large amount of information, most beginners take the introductory class two or three times.

Little Fencers is a beginner class for students ages 5-7, designed to ensure their safety while learning the sport. This class helps students learn about sword safety, body movement, and the basics of fencing. If you have a mini musketeer looking to learn how to duel, this is a great place to start! Class is offered on Mondays from 5:00-6:00 pm and on Saturdays from 9:00-10:00 AM.

All equipment is provided for beginners! Please come to class wearing long pants, athletic clothes, and shoes.

Costs

Little Fencers and Thursday night Youth Beginner classes are 60 minutes long. Participants in these classes need a Bronze membership, which is $120 per month, making it an affordable option for your child's extracurricular activities.

Saturday beginner classes are 90 minutes long. Participants in these classes need a Bronze membership, which is $120 per month.

Rental equipment costs $25 per month.

Adult Beginners

Denver Fencing Center now offers private instruction to adult beginners. This personalized approach ensures that each adult who wishes to learn to fence will receive individualized attention during their weekly 20-minute lessons with a DFC coach. The one-on-one format allows instructors to get to know the students and provide custom instruction. We also offer a beginner class on Tuesdays from 6:00-7:00 pm, in addition to the class included with your membership.
